How to refine your search:

" " Search for groups of words / phrases

If you put a group of words in quotation marks, the search will be performed on exactly these words in exactly the order given.

Example: The query "retail funds" will retrieve those sites that contain both words in precisely the order given .

AND / Exact search

If you simply want to see search query results that contain all the words entered, then use the AND operator. This must be written in ALL CAPS between the queried words and separated from them by spaces.

Example: The query "retail" AND "funds" will retrieve those sites that contain both words on the same page.

OR / Alternative search

By default, searches are performed on all words in a query. If you specifically want to include one of several words, you can use the OR operator, which must be written entirely in ALL CAPS.

Example: The query "retail" OR "funds" retrieves results containing one of these words.

NOT / Excluding terms

If you enter NOT directly before a word, you exclude sites that include that word from the search. NOT must immediately precede the word in question and must have a space on either side.

Example: A query for "retail" NOT "funds" will search for "retail," but will exclude references to "funds". You can exclude as many words as you like by entering NOT before each of them, for example, "retail" NOT "funds" NOT "launches".

* / Wildcard (placeholder) search

If you are searching for a particular term or word stem and you don’t know how it begins or ends or you don’t want to narrow this down, use the asterisk (*) as a wildcard (placeholder). The word or part of the word you enter must be written in lower case.

Example: The query "invest*" will find terms such as "investment" and "investors". The results for "*report" will include "Rating-Report", "VAG reporting" and "annual reports".
