Hans-Olov Bornemann, who manages the SEB Asset Selection Fund, has been named Fund Manager of the Year. Axel Springer Financial Media has presented this award to outstanding members of the business and financial community since 1995. The jury, composed of €uro, €uro am Sonntag and €uro Fondsxpress editors, was on the lookout for stable growth, innovative strategies and the sustainability of the fund concept as winning criteria.Bornemann (42) heads up the Global Quant Team at SEB Asset Management in Stockholm, and – true to form – follows a quantitative strategy for the SEB Asset Selection Fund. The total-return product invests in four asset categories – equities, bonds, currencies and commodities – in which fund managers can enter into both long and short positions. There is no fixed weighting for asset categories. Allocation decisions are made based on a quantitative model developed by Bornemann and his team.
